If you’re reading this, you must be a fellow non morning person! I salute you for realising this and for your effort to seek how on earth, this could ever change.

Honestly though I was Never a morning person, I didn’t even know people worked out and did a lot of stuff in the morning, until I learnt more about yoga and how some people tend to practice yoga and workout in the morning!.

How do these people do it?

Well the crucial part is actually in sleeping earlier the night before.

That’s right, I was just as terrible at going to bed early, as I was at getting up, its a no brainer if you really think about it. You sleep earlier, you get a better quality of sleep, therefore you have rested and you wake up with *gasp* energy!

Here’s a few more tips that I reckon can really help in your becoming a morning person. If this isn’t your goal, at least have a more calm morning to feel more ready for the day ahead.

Here are some tips for you listed below:

  1. Go to bed earlier

So if you suffer from thinking of EVERYTHING SINGLE THING YOU NEED TO DO EVER, right before bed, join the club, I do that too (got my hand raised over here).

Give yourself a break, there is only so much you can do, life happens, things pop up, like ants in the kitchen, everywhere out of nowhere and because its rainy season and they need to live somewhere dry too (#mountainlife).

Also if you’d like some tips on how to be a little better at sleeping early, check out this 4 ways to the best sleep + Bedtime Yoga

  1. Get up & don’t snooze

Ok I have a confession to make, I don’t always do this.

I’ve heard numerous times, by the amazing coach Mel Robbins, all the science she’s gathered to say that pretty much if you snooze, you’ll have a really shitty day.

Have you ever woken up before you alarm, got out of bed and somehow you actually feel fine, even a little bit energized? Well there’s Mel Robbins size proven in a  nutshell.

If this has never, ever happened to you, then nevermind, you could blame low blood pressure like me!

When I have gotten up, to my alarm straight away, of course I feel the morning drowsiness but I do then have the chance to stay awake and properly wake up!

  1. Don’t go on your phone first thing in the morning!

Seriously the amounts fo times, I’ve stopped the alarm on my phone, then flicked through emails, messages, social media. Wasting precious time and even more precious energy on technology, it is not worth it!

If you must have your phone alarm on, at least put your phone on Airplane mode the night before.

Then resist, you must Resist, the urge to check everything that’s going on through your mobile.

You will be ok, the people contacting you will be ok and you will feel a hell of a lot better if you don’t check your phone for at least 1 hour if not more in the morning!

These are just 3 tips that I will advice for you, of course you should also try the yoga sequence I made for you, its by the lake, its sunny & you’ll feel gently energised for your day ahead.

I won’t go into a OTT morning routine, I know most people are far too busy for that, plus they just add extra pressure on you, when you already should just relax more and take a break from all of the expectations that you have set on yourself.

If you’ve scrolled all the way down, you cheeky thing. Go back up, watch the yoga class I made just for you, the next time you wake up and have a spare 15 mins and I’d recommend the below 3 tips:
