Yoga workout for snowboarders and skiers

Welcome to your Yoga Workout for snowboarders and skiers class.

Join me for this 20 minutes yoga, to stretch and strengthen your whole body, under the spring cherry blossoms.

This yoga class focuses on poses to make you feel more energized, to bring joy and feel a sense of freedom in your body, and get snowboard/ski ready (for when the snow is falling).

In this strong yoga class, to get your body strong in a more gentle way than a gym workout.

There are plenty of strong yoga poses to get your body strength up for when you next go skiing or snowboarding.

With poses to challenge your balance like Warrior 3, to gain more core strength like boat pose variations and plenty of lunges to gain more mobility in your hips.

This yoga class was videoed when the pandemic started, and there was a national state of emergency in Japan in April 2020. I’m writing this blog post, months later, where now most of Europe is in its second lockdown.

 

Although this pandemic is bringing a lot of uncertainty for those of us in the hospitality industry, which depends on tourists to come to the mountains to enjoy their holiday.

While also many who would love to go to their ski and snowboard holiday, are also having to re-think their plans.

2020 sure has been a strange year, we’ve all had some many changes, so much uncertainty, even writing this now in November 2020.

I don’t know what is going to happen to the snow industry for the northern hemisphere and for us in Japan.

We will focus on domestic tourism until the borders are open again in Japan.

The best thing that we can all do, is to take care of ourselves, whether you’ve been staying indoors for months and have had to work from home.

 

Whether like me you’ve had to accept this state of pause, to move away from the word stuck, which is how we’re all feeling. Change feeling stuck to pause and see how you shift into a more positive space.

In a year where travel has become complicated with quarantines and travel bans. We can stay home and try as hard as we can to appreciate what we already have.

Yoga truly is one of the best ways that you can keep moving your body while you’re stuck indoors, it can be hard to practice without the accountability of going to a yoga class.

All you need is a quiet space, to unrol your yoga mat, to breathe and to move.

A big shoutout to the lovely team at Eivy for providing some of their cute collection, which I just managed to wear towards the end of Spring.

I was sent some clothes, as my dad had just passed away in France.

I never got to visit because of the lockdowns had started in Europe (Japan was pretty relaxed cos Olympics).

So it was a really lovely surprise, during a really hard time personally.

As I mentioned often, the snowsports industry is a total sausage fest, I love how the clothes are both feminine but in a badass snowboarder kind of way.
