This class takes you through a quick yoga flow of poses, that target the lower body, especially your thighs and hamstrings.
This video is part of the Skiers + Snowboarders Yoga Series.
These video series, less than 15 mins long, show what I usually teach in winter yoga classes in Myoko and Akakura onsen.
Pss…

I created this flow for snowboarders & skiers, this is the particular part that is most effective to make your legs feel strong, yet also stretched out, focusing on opening up the hips and also lengthening the hamstrings.
The class focuses all on the lower body, as its a flow, its a little quicker than my last few videos, its great for intermediate yogis.
If you’re a total beginner, not to worry, just make sure to modify the poses to your body.
There is a point where it will take time, for example with your hamstrings to lengthen, if you’re a cyclist or a runner, your hamstrings will be tighter.
Don’t judge yourself or say anything mean to yourself about it, accept it, see where you can go and then perhaps when you try it for the 100th time you may or not see a difference.
I also love the fact that these poses are added in a flow, it means you can repeat them if you’re unfamiliar.
Its also made to have a little Japanese twist, skandasana is like a Ninja pose and goddess pose “Utkata Konasana” is like a sumo squat.
These just make the classes a little more lighthearted, why does yoga have to be so serious and a little man friendly (even though yoga was originally created for young indian men, not Lulu lemon wearing women!)
So click on the video above, if you’re wondering about the location of this video, was taken at Kurohime ski resort, over looking the Myoko Kogen valley towards Mount Myoko and its surrounding mountains.
Its Your practical Hip Focus, Post Snow Flow yoga class, you can use it as a warm up before or a stretch out after a day of skiing + snowboarding.
